BUILDING THE PRESS

I designed and built these traditional printing presses with middle school students from Queens, NY, as part of an exploration into 19th century factory conditions, labor history, and womens rights. They built the presses themselves according to my design, wrote period diary entries and labor contracts, and used a re-usable casting material called Composimold to cast slugs and make prints. Beam Center, 2018.

USING THE PRESS

No Superpower haiku written by slam poet and incredible human Cornelius Wiggins and printed using the press.
